George Lerch came into the 2007 season knowing that in order for the Screamin' Eagles to be successful, he had to do more than just hand off the ball like he had done his sophomore year. So he put in extra time watching video and studying the offense while also throwing with his receivers at every opportunity during the off-season. The hard work paid off as Lerch led an offense that tripled it's passing totals from the year before while averaging over 35 points per game.
Lerch's 1,751 passing yards helped balanced the Seneca offense, making them a threat with the pass and run. The yardage total also set a Seneca Valley record. Lerch's 1,751 yards broke Brian Fluery's record 1,725 passing yards from the 1997 State Championship season. Lerch now has 2,304 passing yards total on his career putting him within striking distance of the career yardage total held by Seneca Valley great, Chris Kelley.
Lerch will look to pass for more yardage in 08 with the goal of leading the Eagle's to #13
