Seneca Valley closed out the regular season with a 42-16 win over the visiting Einstein Titans on a rainy Senior night. The win wrapped up an 8-2 regular season while also securing a playoff spot in the 3A West region.
The Eagle's started off fast offensively as Senior QB Antonio Jones got the start and marched the Eagles down field for a score by TB Jamaal Martin. The Titans then struck back with an 8 minute drive to take an 8-7 lead. But after that Titan score, it was all Seneca Valley as the Eagles went on to score 35 straight points to put the game away.
Martin led the Eagles with 127 yards on just 12 carries while also scoring 2 touchdowns. QB George Lerch had a near perfect night as he went 10-12 passing for 168 yards including a 54 yard touchdown pass to WR Mark McGinnis.
Defensively the Eagles had their best night in the secondary as they intercepted 1 pass and held the Titans to under 70 yards of passing offense on the night. Most of which coming after the game had been decided.
The Eagles now enter the 3A West playoffs as the #3 seed and will play the Urbana Hawks Saturday @ 1pm @ Urbana High School. Come out and support the Eagles as the attempt to win state championship #13.
