They Are Back!

After two tough losses to division rivals Kennedy and Damascus, the Eagles bounced back with a 46-8 win over the Churchill Bulldogs on Friday night. Fighting for a 3A playoff spot, the Eagles came out firing on all pistons. QB George Lerch started the scoring off on the very first offensive play when he hit WR Mark McGinnis for a 58 yard touchdown. From there Lerch went on to hit his first 8 of 9 passes en route to a 13 of 18 night that included 199 yards and 2 touchdowns. RB Jamaal Martin added to his rushing totals with 148 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 7 carries. Defensively the Eagles provided constant pressure on the Bulldogs resulting in 3 turnovers. CB Joe Rankin provided 2 of the turnovers with interceptions of the Bulldog QB. With this win the Eagles move to 7-2 on the season and will finish the regular season this Friday night at home vs. the Einstein Titans.
Note: The previous three games vs. the Bulldogs were decided by a total of 15 points.
