Seneca Stunned by Cavs

Friday night should have been a night of revenge. It should have ended with the Eagles' knocking off the Kennedy Cavaliers in a rematch from last seasons 3A West playoff match up. Unfortunately it didn't go that way as the Cavs had their way in route to a 43-21 victory over the visiting Eagles. Seneca just couldn't prevent the big play capability of the Cavalier offense or their own mistakes. Despite mistakes on both sides of the ball, the Eagles still managed to have a season high 428 yards of total offense. RB Jamaal Martin rushed for 204 yards on 21 carries, while QB George Lerch passed for a career high 202 yards and 3 touchdowns. On the receiving end of Lerch's passes was WR Chris Gee who had a season high 113 yards on 6 catches along with 2 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion.
The Eagles look to bounce back from their first loss of the year with a win over an extremely tough Damascus Hornets team this Friday night at Seneca Valley. This will renew a once great county rivalry for the first time since 2000.
