Three SV coaches will be changing teams this year. Varsity defensive end coach John Mangrum is leaving to take over as the offensive coordinator at Walter Johnson High School and JV coaches Scott Fleming and Chris Crosby are leaving to run the offense at Richard Montgomery High School.
Coach Mangrum has been with the Eagle's defense for the last two seasons after serving as the head coach at Einstein High School. Coach Mangrum was extremely popular with coaches and players and he will be greatly missed. Coach Mangrum leaves in hopes of eventually making his way back into the head coaching ranks. Best of luck Coach Mangrum!
Coach Fleming & Crosby are long time Eagle's and will be straying away from the nest for the very first time. Coach Fleming has served as the head JV coach over the last 2 years leading the team to a combined 15-3 record. Coach Fleming also served as a defensive assistant on the JV team before taking over in 2006. Coach Crosby has served as both quarterback coach and offensive coordinator for the JV squad over the last two years. Coach Crosby will become the offensive coordinator for the Rockets with Coach Fleming assisting him. This will be both coaches first varsity coaching positions. Both coaches will be missed by many players and coaches.
Best of luck to all three coaches at their new schools. Coach Mangurm we wish you a 10-0 record and Coach Fleming and Crosby a 9-1 record as we will see you in week 5 at your new stadium.
